School Start Up Parents & Student Reminders

Backpacks on, smiles wide–a new adventure starts inside!!!

Welcome back to our school community!  We hope that your summer was filled with fun, relaxation, and special memories.  We’re excited to begin a new school year together…learning, growing and creating wonderful moments as one big community.  Here are just a few simple reminders to help ensure a smooth transition back to school.

  • FIRST DAY of school brings lots of emotions for students and parents.  Please remember that parents are not allowed on the school yard.  ALL staff will be outside wearing our 2025-2026 Killarney Beach staff shirts so the staff will be easily identifiable..  You will find out who their teachers are when they come home 😀 Please remember that class placements are always tentative until the end of September when all schools in SCDSB have a re-organization. 
  • School starts @ 9:30am and ends @ 3:50pm.  There is no supervision on the yard until 9:15am, please do not drop students off prior to that.
  • Between 9:00 and 10:00 the upper lane is for buses only, pylons are used to indicate no parking/stopping/unloading areas

  • Please call the Safe Arrival number (1.888.885.8065) when you know your child is going to be absent. 
  • 1st Break: 11:10-11:50 (Fitness/Nutrition)

2nd Break: 1:30-2:10  (Fitness/Nutrition)

  • Our sharks go outside in almost all weather conditions so please be sure to check weather so students are dressed appropriately
  • Extra sets of clothes, including underwear and socks are always handy to have in backpacks
  • Please label student clothing as much as possible. The lost and found fills up with some wonderful clothing items that never get found. We have a Mabel’s Labels fundraiser that is always open.
  • Information about hot lunch programs will come home shortly…stay tuned.
  • Snacks program is not available until the 2nd week
  • Please be sure to set up/log into your SCHOOL CASH ONLINE account (if issues please reach out to Yolanda Johnson or Patie Ramnarine) as all Permission and Acknowledgement forms, hot lunch, field trip forms etc will be done digitally through this account.
